About this template
This subscription tracker lists the recurring bills and subscriptions in your household and converts each one to what it costs you a year. It is for anyone who suspects they are paying for more than they use and wants to catch renewals before they happen.
Please read: This is a tracker tool only, not financial, tax, legal, medical or any other professional advice or advisory service. It records and calculates what you enter; you are solely responsible for checking all figures, rates, dates and results and for every decision you make. By purchasing, downloading or using it, you accept these terms (your statutory consumer rights are not affected).
A year on every row
A small monthly charge and a larger yearly one cannot be compared until one of them is converted. The file does it for you: weekly times 52, monthly times 12, quarterly times four. With an annual cost on every row, and a monthly figure from the same total, you can finally see where the money goes.
Used lately, in three states
Mark each subscription as used every week, sometimes or never. The never-used ones are totaled in money, and that money saving number often pays for the file in the first month.
Renewals and cancel-by dates
Subscriptions renewing in the next 14 days are counted. Each also has its own cancel-by date, because the deadline to cancel is not always the renewal date. That makes it a renewal tracker as well as a subscription list.
- 120 subscriptions across eleven categories, so streaming and software totals stay separate
- Weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly billing
- An annual cost on every row, converted, and a monthly figure from the same total
- Renewing in 14 days, counted
- A cancel-by date of its own
- Never used, totaled in money
- A Bills tab alongside the subscriptions
- A Tasks tab for everything the main tab does not cover, and a dashboard reading all of it
Six connected tabs and a filled example
Start Here, Setup, Subscriptions, Bills, Tasks and Dashboard. The example copy holds 24 subscriptions, with eleven renewing inside two weeks and a sizable yearly sum going on things marked never used. The blank copy is ready for your own household bills, and the Start Here tab walks you through setup in a few minutes.
Works with
- Microsoft Excel 2016, 2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365, on Windows and Mac, and LibreOffice

Frequently asked questions
Does it work in Excel and Google Sheets?
Yes. The Excel workbooks run on Excel 2016 or later on Windows and Mac, and the instruction guide has one-click links to copy the Google Sheets versions with a free Google account.
How does it compare monthly and yearly subscriptions?
It converts every payment to an annual cost: weekly times 52, monthly times 12 and quarterly times four, then shows a monthly figure from the same total.
Will it remind me before something renews?
It counts subscriptions renewing in the next 14 days on the dashboard, and each has its own cancel-by date. It does not send emails or notifications.
Can I see what I am wasting?
Yes. Mark each subscription as used every week, sometimes or never, and the never-used ones are totaled in money.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. You type in your subscriptions yourself. The file has no add-ins, no macros and nothing to connect.
