About this template
This trading card collection tracker is for collectors of sports cards, game cards and comics who want one list with the grade, the set and the value of every item. Enter what you paid and what it is worth now, and the workbook works out the gain line by line and for the whole collection.
The same card in two different grades is really two different assets. This tracker treats grade as the valuation, so it is a dropdown on every line.
Please read: This is a tracker tool only, not financial, tax, legal, medical or any other professional advice or advisory service. It records and calculates what you enter; you are solely responsible for checking all figures, rates, dates and results and for every decision you make. By purchasing, downloading or using it, you accept these terms (your statutory consumer rights are not affected).
Grade and value on every line
- Six grades, from graded 10 down to raw and played
- Paid against worth now: the gain per line in money and as a share of what you paid, so you can see which line did the work
- The best single line, named on the summary strip
- Where each one is kept, whether in a safe, a binder or a long box
A card inventory that stays findable
Set, run and card number sit in separate columns, which is the only way a run stays easy to find once the list passes a hundred lines. There is room for 400 cards and comics, and comics go on the same list with the same columns as cards, so a slabbed comic and a graded card sit side by side. That makes it a comic book inventory and a list of graded cards in one file.
Six connected tabs
- Start Here and Setup: a guided start and your settings
- Collection: every card and comic, with grade, cost and current value
- Tasks: getting items graded or insured and chasing the one that got away
- Bills: the costs that come with collecting
- Dashboard: the whole collection on one screen, filled in automatically
A real collection to learn from
The worked example holds 28 lines across Pokemon, basketball, football and comics, with one rookie card bought in 2016 making up a large share of the gain. A bulk lot of commons is down, a facsimile is marked as a facsimile and one rookie card is worth less than it cost, which is what real collector cards look like. A blank copy is ready for your own.
