About this template

This travel points tracker keeps every loyalty program you belong to in one place, for anyone into travel hacking or simply tired of points expiring. Each program keeps a running balance, and every redemption is scored by what a point was really worth.

The dashboard

Pick all programs or one, and the cards, charts and tables follow. Nothing is typed on it.

Every balance, kept up to date

The Programs tab holds one row per program, whether airline miles, hotel points or credit card points, with your starting balance, what a point is usually worth to you and how its points expire. Every earn, bonus, transfer and redemption goes on the Activity tab, and the balances follow.

What each point was worth

The Redemptions tab works out cents a point on every redemption, sets it against the program's usual value and marks it Great, Fair or Poor. Your redemptions are ranked best value first, and every balance is valued in cash at your own value a point.

Expiry dates with a warning

Expiry is worked out from the last activity or from a fixed date, depending on the program, and you choose how many days of warning you want.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. You get Excel workbooks for Excel 2016 or later on Windows or Mac, and the instruction guide has one-click links to copy the Google Sheets versions with a free Google account.

Does it connect to my airline or card accounts?

No. You log each earn, bonus, transfer and redemption on the Activity tab, and the running balances follow from that.

How does it value a redemption?

It works out cents a point, compares it with the usual value you set for that program and marks it Great, Fair or Poor.

Will it warn me before points expire?

Yes. Expiry comes from the last activity or a fixed date, and balances inside the warning period you choose show in red.

Is there an example to follow?
