About this template
This dog grooming bookkeeping spreadsheet is for salon and mobile groomers who want their books and their rebookings in one place. It logs appointments with a rebooked column, records grooming income and costs on lines written for the work, and builds the year's totals from there.
Please read: This is a tracker tool only, not financial, tax, legal, medical or any other professional advice or advisory service. It records and calculates what you enter; you are solely responsible for checking all figures, rates, dates and results and for every decision you make. By purchasing, downloading or using it, you accept these terms (your statutory consumer rights are not affected).
An appointment tracker that watches rebookings
A full diary of dogs that never come back is a busy way to go out of business. On the Appointments tab, Rebooked is a column, and it is the one number on the tab that tells you what next month looks like.
Categories for a pet business
The ledger opens on lines a dog groomer actually uses, not product sales and service income.
- Income lines: Grooming, Bath and tidy, Puppy and first visits, and Walking and sitting
- Expense lines: Shampoo and consumables, Salon or van rent, Equipment and blades, and Blade sharpening, and more
- Mileage reasons: mobile groom, wholesaler, sharpening and vet, chosen from a drop-down
Twelve connected tabs
Start Here, Setup, Appointments, Clients, Income, Expenses, Mileage, Monthly, Quarterly, Profit and Loss, Balances and Dashboard.
- 500 income rows and 500 expense rows
- A mileage log with your own reasons, useful for mobile grooming, and the year totaled
- Monthly and quarterly totals, which is how tax gets filed
- A profit and loss built from the same two lists
- 10 client records showing what each has been worth
- Account balances, so the file knows what the business holds
- A dashboard that reads all of it
A worked year and a blank copy
The filled copy follows one groomer through a year: 390 income entries and 348 expense entries at a 53.5% margin. The blank copy is ready for your own clients, and the Start Here tab walks you through setup in a few minutes.
This is a bookkeeping spreadsheet, not an accountant. Tax rates and what you can claim are yours to set and yours to check.

Yes. The Excel workbooks run on Excel 2016 or later on Windows and Mac, and the instruction guide has one-click links to copy the Google Sheets versions with a free Google account.
Can I see which clients have rebooked?

I groom from a van. Does it log mileage?
Yes. The Mileage tab has reasons such as mobile groom, wholesaler, sharpening and vet, and Salon or van rent is its own expense line.
Can I track walking and sitting too?
